Commonwealth Care Alliance is celebrating our 20^th anniversary, a milestone with significance beyond longevity. From the beginning, CCA has been mission-focused, providing the highest quality, individualized care to those with significant medical, behavioral, and social needs in our communities.

As we reflect on 2022, another year filled with achievement, CCA is proud to present our annual report, renamed “Mission Impact Report” to signify that the driving force behind our work is how we improve care for everyone we serve. At CCA, customers are our purpose and excellence is our standard.

We place those we serve at the center of all we do and focus on delivering an uncommon healthcare experience, prioritizing innovative wrap-around services to meet each customer’s unique needs.

CCA has made great strides on our growth strategy to expand beyond Massachusetts. In 2022, we began to serve our newest customers in Rhode Island, California, and Michigan under the CCA Health brand. We are bringing our uncommon care® model — consistently recognized as one of the best in the country at managing care for individuals with significant needs and those who narrowly miss the threshold for Medicaid —
to more who need it.

Our 2022 achievements tell a story of continued exceptional performance and growth for CCA:

• CCA Health Michigan grew its presence through the acquisition of the Greater Genesee County Accountable Care Organization (GGC ACO), adding 23 primary care practices with an estimated 5,500 Medicare patients. This allows us to serve over 60,000 individuals in the state through Medicare Advantage Health Plans, an Accountable Care Organization, and a physician organization.
• We rolled out Medicare Advantage plans across four states, providing comprehensive benefits that prioritize health and wellness and allow individuals to save in the areas most important to them.
• Our product diversification, geographic expansion, and the success of our  uncommon care®  model led to revenue of $2.3 billion, which represents a nearly 12% increase over the previous year, and an 81% increase since 2018.

We have our exceptional providers, dedicated community partners, and fast-growing CCA workforce to thank for these achievements.

With our not-for-profit mission propelling our work forward, we celebrate diversity and stand for health equity. In 2022, for the second time, CCA was named one of the Top Places to Work in Massachusetts in an employee-based survey from The Boston Globe, and was named a Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion on the 2022 Disability Equality Index® (DEI), the world’s most comprehensive benchmarking tool for companies to measure disability workplace inclusion.

CCA continues to demonstrate our exceptional ability to partner with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the City of Boston. We created and continue to operate the Shattuck Cottage Community, a first-of-its-kind temporary housing community on the former Shattuck Hospital campus in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, to address the homelessness and substance use disorder crisis.

Our 2022 Mission Impact Report shares additional highlights and details from the past year in the context of all we have achieved over the past twenty. Even as we pause to recognize this important anniversary, we look ahead to the future and the opportunity to bring our expertise to more who need us.
